Hey guys, it’s another exciting day in the world of international football as the UEFA Champions League group stage draw happens today. At 17:45 today all eyes of the international football fraternity will be directed towards Monaco where the draw will take place.
Not only the draw, but also the announcement of the European Player of the Year, with Manuel Neuer, Arjen Robben and Cristiano Ronaldo on the final short-list.
However, I want to know today, who are your favourites to win the upcoming Champions League campaign.
Real Madrid are keen to defend the trophy as the first team since the inception of the new format in 1992, but are they as strong as last year after the departure of Di Maria and the imminent departure of Xabi Alonso?
FC Barcelona will also want to get back to the top after missing out on the last three finals and spending over €120 million this summer.
However, German giants Bayern Munich have also bought quality players this summer and have six World Cup winners in their line-up.
Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain also want to join Europe’s big boys and Atletico Madrid as well as Borusia Dortmund can never be written off.
Arsenal, Liverpool, Juventus and Roma have outside chances in my opinion, but never say never.
So, who are your favourites and why?
I am looking forward to another heated debate – 3, 2, 1 GO! J
Cheers,
David
