Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela recently pointed out that his team will be focusing on winning the ABSA Premiership. Amakhosi will be travelling away to face off against AmaZulu in a league fixture on Wednesday night.
Over the weekend, Komphela's men were edged out of the Telkom Knockout after Wiseman Meyiwa received a red card for a challenge on Wits' Daine Klate. Coach Komphela said afterwards that his team could have won the game, but after they went a man down, their plans were affected.
The supporters have reacted to Komphela's views, with some insisting the coach should have back-up plans put in place when going into games.
"Explaining yourself will never change anything. If you are honest to yourself, you should have long admitted that Chiefs is way out of your reach and resigned. You are now tactically bankrupt!" – Soldier4Khosi
"That team was one man down, then why couldn't he change the plan? He should have put Pule Ekstein in for (Daniel) Cardoso after that red card to create more chances and leave Bernard Parker up front to play with two strikers. We were better after he introduced Ekstein. Parker was left isolated." – tebogo gm mahlaba
"While you are still mourning Meyiwa's red card, we (the supporters) are mourning two years of being trophyless, which seems like it's going to be three years. I think that we should contact the military to intervene." – MIX n MATCH
Do you think Chiefs have any chance of winning the two remaining trophies available to them this season?
