What a different scene to the beginning of the year. In January, South Africa boasted a proud record of having four teams who could realistically compete for continental honors, this was all thanks to an incredible sacrifice made by Orlando Pirates to afford us such opportunities.
Unfortunately, in football, opportunities are often squandered, and squandered they were. It is excusable to lose a game, this happens. Yet, our Supporters do not seem convinced that this was the case with the recent exit of Kaizer Chiefs, Ajax CT, and Bidvest Wits.
Sundowns is now the only team to be holding South Africa’s flag in the competition.
Some Supporters feel disrespected by the fact that certain teams were perceived not to even try. So now we put it to you. Between the three eliminated teams, which ones do you think were knocked out because they were simply not good enough, and which were knocked out because they threw it away? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
Kaizer Chiefs – Not Good Enough/Didn’t Care?
Ajax Cape Town – Not Good Enough/Didn’t Care?
Bidvest Wits – Not Good Enough/Didn’t Care?
