The latest news emerging from Orlando Pirates is that it looks probable that Thamsanqa Gabuza will be staying at the club, and will not be one of the players released by new coach Muhsin Ertugral. The supporters are stuck in a tug-of-war between wanting "Gandaganda" and wanting to push him away…
Some supporters doubt his ability as a striker.
"Yerrr, Gabuza is like having Abraw, Parker, Ndulula and Manqele in the same cage." – akumuzi
There are also those who are yet to forgive Gabuza for his infamous celebration in the Nedbank Cup, when he taunted supporters after scoring.
"Maybe if he was more mature. That celebration, in my mind, was the straw that broke the camel's back." – Ant_55
Despite having a rocky domestic league campaign in 2015/16, many supporters still see some value in Gabuza, and think this value is yet to be unlocked.
"Gabuza reminds me of Jerry 'Legs of Thunder' Sikhosana. He's got everything it takes." – Daniel Madenza Kutumela
"He brings a different kind of play to Pirates, so it's a wise move, he just can't be relied on for scoring." – Bucs-10
"I think he will do better under his mentor Muhsin and prove many people wrong." – Thobnaldo
Should Gabuza go or stay?
