Many supporters have already forecasted the doom and gloom future of Coach Shakes Mashaba for the national job. Now the debate ensues about who the supporters would like to see replacing him.
There has reportedly been a shortlist of names released by SAFA following a meeting regarding Shakes’ future. The frontrunners are reportedly Ruud Kroll, Gavin Hunt, and Muhsin Ertugral. However, supporters feel that one name has been glanced over.
Dan “Dance” Malesela, current Chippa United head coach has been working wonders with the Chilli Boys with minimal financial resources to work with. Furthermore, he has instilled a style of beautiful football in the team, the supporters kind of football – easy on the eye.
“Dan "dance" Malesela is the name!” – Amazing20
“Barker and be assisted by Malesela.” - mripe
“SAFA must bring Bra Dan dance Malesela to manage Bafana Bafana.” – pinono
And then there are still those who voice their support for a foreign coach to turn things around with Bafana.
“Well other coaches can be given an opportunity but Pitso should be left at downs. You need a good coach at international level n you have to see what that particular coach does at club level 1st. For me downs is only relying on foreign players more than local ones n they also dominate the domestic league because they weaken their opponents through financial strength which doesn't happen on international stage as every coach uses the best that he picks in a country. So for me I think Pitso should be a candidate in this.” – old dog
“If it ever happened that we need a new coach. I think we need a foreign coach who's experienced, but who has been coaching enough in Africa. Like the coach who won Afcon with Zambia. You saw what happened when Bucs got Krol. In local I see no one now. Gavin hunt and his team are playing dull football...” – Dumanie
Who should be the man to lead Bafana Bafana should Shakes go?
