Up until Wednesday, most people in the South African footballing community believed that Justice Chabalala would be plying his trade for Kaizer Chiefs as the young defender looked for a move away from Free State Stars. Orlando Pirates, however, managed to swoop in and securre the 24-year-old's signature. The supporters discuss who is to blame and who is to applaud.
The Pirates faithful seem elated at the action being taken to right the wrongs of last season, with the multiple signings that have been made and the coach who has been employed.
"My team means business this coming season. I hope the coach will know how to connect the dots to make it an unstoppable machine. With the players we have at our disposal, we may have two different squads and still deliver at the highest level." – bhkabhakalokuqina1
"Orlando Pirates are a go-getter team, whatever player comes they sign." – Van-Zyl
On the other hand, Chiefs supporters are obviously devastated at the loss of a potential young star to strengthen their backline, but most seem to be keeping a cool head about it all.
"If we allow Pirates to beat us on signing players, we must expect them to beat us on the field of play." – Messonaldo
"As much as I hate Bobby, we can't always blame him. Khosi fans must understand how much influence Khoza has compared to Bobby." – spectorman
What do you think of the difference in how Chiefs and Pirates have gone about preparing their squads for the new season?
