It is official, Shaun Bartlett and the University of Pretoria have been sent spinning down the drain to the NFD. With them, they take the hopes of the season, and their fans, and leave behind the lucrative monthly PSL grants…
Supporters Club caught up with Tuks fan David Mashetile to find out the mood among the supporters following the club's relegation.
"Ja, what can you say, hey. I think we are in for a very rough ride. Life in the NFD is just something else man… Little TV coverage, the money is more than halved, the fans disappear," he said.
"On top of this, we hear lots of stories of brown envelopes, corruption and all that occurring there."
Tuks recently lost to Highlands Park, which dashed their hopes of staying up. Highlands went on to win their next game against Mbombela United, putting the final nail in the coffin, and confirming Tuks' status as an NFD outfit next season.
David says he will still travel to the stadium to watch AmaTuks, but he is "frightened" of the campaign ahead.
"Anything can happen, I am frightened. At least ticket prices will be cheaper next season," he concluded.
Do you think Tuks deserved to be relegated?
