Orlando Pirates legend Edward Motale came out with a strong statement recently, saying that this Buccaneers squad is the strongest he has ever seen. One of our supporters has responded to the claim...
This new look Orlando Pirates team certainly has a lot to boast about in its arsenal, with master tactician Muhsin Ertugral at the helm and the new acquisitions of players such as Thabiso Kutumela, Abbubaker Mobara, and Riyaad Norodien. Not to mention the players already there, like Oupa Manyisa and Thabo Matlaba, to name just a few.
However, one of our supporters, Fandiesel, says that, while this may very well be the best Pirates team, it won't count for much if this does not translate into results on the field as Pirates have had "golden generations" before.
"This may be the best team they have, but results will say something if they don't show up for the party. Pirates had the likes of Vilakazi, 'Duku-duku' and 'Cheeseboy', what a good team but the club had nothing to show off about that. Then came Manyisa and Jali, they delivered a treble..."
