The Warriors On Full Attack At AFCON 2017

AFCON 2017 began this past weekend as eight African teams battled it out in search of their first win for the auspicious event. Today, we look at PSL players who took part in the opening-round fixtures.

Zimbabwe faced off against Algeria, drawing 2-2. The Zimbabwean side, which has eight PSL-based players on their roster, has arguably the best attack at the event. Five of these players were included in the line-up against the fierce Algerian team.

Danny Phiri and Kuda Mahachi

The Golden Arrows duo partnered up in the heart of the Warriors' midfield, with Mahachi bagging a goal.

Onismor Bhasera

The SuperSport United left winger was instrumental on the flank and a menace in the attack that caused the Algerian defence to bring him down in the box, resulting in the penalty that led to their second goal.

Willard Katsande

The no-nonsense defensive midfielder captained his side and led by example.

Khama Billiat

The attacker was instrumental in the front line for Zimbabwe, with his trickery and creative play.

What did you think of Zimbabwe's performance against Algeria?
