The new season is almost upon us, and this week carries a very exciting game in the form of an MTN8 opener between Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town City. As we await to see what tactics coach Steve Komphela will employ, we speak to a fan who thinks the answer lies with the club's supporters.
"Kaizer Chiefs can play such beautiful football, but I worry for our coach."
These were the words of Amakhosi supporter Robert Dlamini.
"We played so free and well in the recent Carling Black Label Cup. And you know why? It is because that was the supporters' team and not the coach's team. The boys were free, man! Ekstein played magical football that you would never see him playing under any coach's guidance.
"What that game told me was that our boys play best with more freedom and less instructions from a strict coach. I think we can do really well this season if the boys are allowed to express themselves; we have really good players, they just need the inspiration. The supporters should coach Chiefs."
What do you think of the supporters' Chiefs compared to the team you saw playing last season?
