Most supporters outside of Chloorkop have already thrown in the towel and declared the season over. The yellow train has certainly been relatively unstoppable this season, bumping over very few obstacles, and based on performance alone, Mamelodi Sundowns should take the league title. There are those, however, who think the road ahead may be bumpier than initially perceived.
"Truth be told, there are still games to play… Anything can happen." – Big Spender
"The probability of Wits winning the league is about equal to that of Sundowns." – Gumede06
"Indeed the league is not yet over because the last four games are very tricky." – Gerard868
The point that these Soccer Laduma users raise here is an important one: in the remaining games, both teams have a fairly formidable task ahead of them.
Sundowns must, among other teams, play Kaizer Chiefs, Bidvest Wits, and end things off with a tough encounter against a resilient Platinum Stars outfit.
The Clever Boys do not exactly have a walk in the park ahead of them either. They must still play the Brazilians, a rejuvenated SuperSport United under the guidance of Stuart Baxter, and the ever-threatening Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Furthermore, both teams are playing good football, so much so that it has taken us by surprise when they lose (remember the 3-1 hiding Bloemfontein Celtic gave Sundowns?).
It just goes to show that anything can happen at any point. South Africans, tighten your seatbelts, this may be a tighter end to the season than originally forecasted.
Who do you think has a tougher end to the campaign? Which team has the legs to go all the way?
