Tonight, South Africa is abuzz with excitement as the ABSA Premiership resumes. It is more exciting for Highlands Park as they prepare to play their first top-flight game in 34 years, and they are set to take on fellow newly promoted NFD side Baroka FC. Tembisa can hardly wait to host the affair.
Supporters Club caught up with Highlands Park superfan Nandos to find out what Tembisa has in store for Baroka tonight.
Beaver Nazo: Hi Nandos, how are you doing?
Nandos: Hey Beaver, I'm good man, all good and ready for the game.
BN: The Lions of the North are taking on Baroka in Tembisa tonight. How ready are they for this one?
Nandos: We are more than ready, Beaver. Remember, we never had an off-season because we were busy playing play-offs. They don't have even have the slightest of chances, nada.
BN: What is the mood like in Tembisa building up to the first game?
Nandos: Beaver, my man, Tembisa is buzzing. In the taxi ranks, shopping malls, everywhere, people are talking about this game.
BN: There's some sort of rivalry between the two teams, and last season this fixture didn't have a winner as they played to two draws. What can we expect tonight?
Nandos: Tonight we will show them Bosso Ke Mang. You can't take three points from Tembisa. We are in the PSL now, not in the NFD anymore.
BN: And the ticket sales? How are they going?
Nandos: Our stadium is a 16 000-seater but the PSL decided to sell 10 000. So I think there's less than 500 tickets left now and they will soon be sold out.
BN: Before we let you go, any message for the boys as they prepare to take on Bakgaga?
Nandos: All I can say to them is that they know what we want: goals, just two for tonight. We can't afford to lose against Baroka because it will be difficult to even walk on the streets.
What is your prediction for the game tonight?
