It's Thursday and Supporters Club throws back as usual. Today, we take you down memory lane to the 1990 Iwisa Maize Meal Charity Spectacular semi-final between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
The game took place at a packed FNB Stadium. Remember, it was a one-day tournament with two semi-finals early in the day and then the final later.
The game got under way and it was Rudolf Seale who put Chiefs ahead in the first half, and the game went to half time 1-0 in favour of Amakhosi.
The Glamour Boys came out smoking in the second half and grabbed a second through Trevor Mthimkhulu, 2-0 to Amakhosi. The Buccaneers surged forward in search of an equaliser, and opened up at the back, allowing Chiefs to counter-attack them.
Shane McGregor grabbed a third goal for Amakhosi against the run of play, 3-0 to Chiefs. EzikaMagebhula continued to push for a goal of their own, but it was Amakhosi who had the last say, when the substitute Abel Shongwe scored a fourth.
The ref blew the final whistle and the scoreline read: Kaizer Chiefs 4-0 Orlando Pirates. Amakhosi went through to the final!
What are the best or worst memories you have of that game?
