Great news has graced the Buccaneer faithful. Instead of seeing one of their most trusted legends leaving the club and engaging in a massive debate about whether this was right or wrong, Pirates have retained the services of one of their most loyal players, Lucky Lekgwathi, and have ensured that life after football will be fruitful for Captain my Captain.
"True loyaltyship pays. You dedicate yourself to a team, you get a reward. Lehlohonolo Lekgwathi has done wholeheartedly...now all the youngsters will look unto him. Work hard, not for their names, but in the name of a badge, as Mark Fish did, and the likes. Congratulations are in order, Lucky Lekgwathi, for that position." – Alberthm
Many supporters have taken the opportunity to thank Lekgwathi for his services to the club, and the most notable memory they have of him appears to be the double treble won during his time.
"My Captain Fantastic, you have serve us well. You were loyal to this family from day one, we will never forget you, a true legend. Go and resume your managerial role of mentoring players, we salute you" – Theembah
Supporters have also taken time to hail Pirates' management for offering Lekgwathi this position and repaying his loyalty with further employment after football.
"That's the Buccaneers I know, they honour and value their player. I will love this team till kingdom comes! #UP THE BUCS" – Dumisile_mthembu
