Supporters Doubt Chiefs Can Afford Rantie

The swapping of money and players is in full swing. There have already been a number of shock developments in the transfer market. Orlando Pirates have made a number of big-name signings to make an impact next season, SuperSport United have bought some of Chiefs' most promising talent, and in terms of Chiefs purchases, we will have to wait for the press conference next week. Would the supporters welcome Tokelo Rantie to the club? Do they think they can afford him?

The latest rumblings have it that Chiefs have reportedly approached Rantie with an offer to wear the gold and black next season. It seems most supporters think he will be a good addition for the club, but many are wondering if Amakhosi can actually afford his services… or if they are willing to pay.

"Where are Chiefs going to get the money to buy this star, Rantie? While they failed to buy the cheapest players locally?" – Daniel Madenza Kutumela

"Chiefs is all talk... A dog that barks but never bites." – Nzuzoh

"Our club will never afford him." – Princeoflv

"It will be a good signing for Chiefs, problem is that madala can't allow Chiefs to spend too much money. Maybe, let's wait and see. It's painful to see our opponents buying quality and Tina buying rejects from other teams." – dismiss chiefs

Rantie has not played a game for English outfit Bournemouth since 2015 and is not registered in the squad. So it seems he is not part of their future plans, and therefore may be looking to provide his services for another club. It could very well be Chiefs, but most supporters don't see this happening because of the Glamour Boys' reputation for being money-wise in the transfer market.

However, all will apparently be revealed soon, at a press conference next week. Until then, the supporters can merely give suggestions as to who should be at the club.

Do you think Rantie would be a good fit at the club? Can you see Chiefs spending big money on him?
