There is drama brewing in the PSL as players begin to find new homes but the dust of their old contracts continues to haunt them. Today, the supporters discuss the issue of Cuthbert Malajila and Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Zimbabwean has claimed that during the swap deal that saw him move to Bidvest Wits, communication was at a minimum from Sundowns, leaving the player outside the loop, so to speak. Some supporters have even warned players against setting their entire futures at Sundowns, largely because the competition is so tough that there is no guarantee of a decent chance to prove yourself.
"That is unprofessional by Sundowns for doing that to our foreign players, treating them like nobodies. To players who want to play for Sundowns, I say do not sign a long contract, the longest should be two years and they will respect you as a player because after one and half years, you will be free to enter into a pre-contract with a team of your choice. An example is Mahachi, who signed a five-year contract with Sundowns. Sundowns decide your next move. Imagine such quality forced to play for a small team like Arrows." – Pks
Other supporters have sent their heartfelt condolences to Malajila but also stated that he should not air his complaints publicly, and should rather focus on succeeding at Wits.
"Sorry Mala, you have served us well, boy. Stop complaining, focus your energy at Wits, don't be angry that we released you. Castro was too much for you, move baba! All the best for your Wits career, my boy!" – Pathology
