It has just emerged that Danish club Brondby have refused to release Lebogang Phiri for national duty during the upcoming Olympics in Brazil. The young South African star will be sorely missed, and the supporters are disgusted by the Danish club's decision, advising Phiri that there are other options for him.
It seems most supporters have voiced their displeasure at the decision taken by Phiri's European outfit. Many have said that if it were up to them, they would ignore the club's command.
"If I were him I would go to Brazil, he's still young. Danish soccer is not rated among the best, there will be scouts from Barcelona, etc." – masilomotete
"Selfish indeed, even Barcelona has agreed to release Neymar." – Tjitjotja
"Eish, that doesn't sound good. Olympics would have been good exposure for his career." – shares_seleni
There is one supporter, however, who has warned Phiri that keeping your employers happy should be priority No. 1.
"Lebo, you know which side your bread is buttered on. A job is a job. Forget about the Olympic dream." – Nkosinathi. Dlamini
What advice would you give Phiri? Should he keep his employers happy, or represent the country and possibly be scouted?
