Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a 0-0 draw with Ajax Cape Town at Athlone Stadium on Wednesday night. Ajax were by far the better side early in the game but were unable to convert their chances. However, it was Sundowns who came out guns blazing in the second half, and the came closest to breaking the deadlock in the 70th minute, but were denied by a fine save from Anssi Jaakkola.
"We are heartbroken!" Sundowns fan China said.
"’I felt that we had much better chances in the second half."
The Brazilians' recent results should be a cause for concern, but the Sundowns faithful are not worried just yet.
"To be honest, we do not have any concerns," China added.
"We might not be getting our desired results but we are still performing well, and I believe that coach Pitso should give Cuthbert Malajila a chance."
It was a fantastically frustrating affair to watch, with the mighty Downs being held goalless by the underdogs, the Urban Warriors, particularly at such a crucial stage of the league.
With the campaign nearing its end, the race for the title continues to be an exciting one, and Masandawana will be searching for a win in their next encounter, against Kaizer Chiefs, who will be in high spirits after bagging three points in their last match.
