Football… What a funny sport. One minute you can be on top of the world, and the next you are cleaning the gutter. At the beginning of the week, Mamelodi Sundowns had the opportunity to walk away with their first treble in a season. This Monday, things have changed. The once-unstoppable Yellow Train has hit a stone in the railway tracks...
Sundowns supporter Mama Tsontso is certainly not happy with how things have turned out for her team.
"Things are not good at all, I don't know what happened," she said.
"We had the game in our hands. They were serving us the game on a silver platter and we threw it away.
"No one is to blame, but Langeman was not there on Saturday, he was relaxing too much, I don't know what happened with him."
Sundowns now need to shift their focus to the league. They have a handful of games left to play, and included among those are two tough fixtures against Kaizer Chiefs and Bidvest Wits. They have it all to lose.
"This week is hectic. If we can beat Ajax on Wednesday, then we have the league," Mama added.
"If we draw, then it is going to be a long race to the finish."
The Brazilians have really had their character tested this last week. This will be an interesting finish to the league. Will the boys from Chloorkop sail smoothly to the title, or will they throw it away?
Will Sundowns' confidence be rattled after this past week? Or will they still walk away with the title?
