South Africa Thanks Sublime Khune

South Africa got their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign off to satisfying start with a 1-1 draw away in Burkina Faso. It was a tough match in harsh conditions, but the boys managed to salvage a point, and much praise has been heaped on goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.

Many supporters have taken the opportunity to thank Khune for a stellar performance, which included a saved penalty.

"Did you know Khune is an award-winning goalkeeper? I'm referring to 1. Best Goalkeeper of the Year 2. Player of the Year 3. Players' Player of the Year 4. Neymar, Suarez, Rooney, Ronaldo, Villa also respect Itu big time. What accolades does Onyango have? Khune, you rock, my boy, keep it up!" – Vhivha

"Say all you want but Khune was the only player who gave his all!" – Lebstikano

"Ja, Khune looks overweight but still makes a difference on the pitch. I still feel there's no better keeper than Khune in SA. If people disagree, name one better... I think he is there in the top 10 worldwide, klaar." – ndova

"Khune was outstanding, BIG UP to the man." – Tata Sibeko

To add an even more bizarre spin to the story, Khune is said to have been struggling with a stomach bug prior to the match, but said he managed to rectify the issue by drinking a Coca-Cola...

"Khune, do you have a sponsorship deal with the Coca-Cola brand? Anyway, thanks for the advice, at least now I know what to drink when my stomach runs. You saved us many times, Burkina Faso would've score three or four goals but thanks to your heroic performance, you saved us. We salvaged a point, it's not a bad result, bearing in mind that we were away." – Badelise

Do you think Khune was the difference between winning and losing this weekend?
