Thapelo Morena's future remains uncertain. He was once the darling of the Bloemfontein Celtic faithful; recently, however, he has been linked with a move to either Kaizer Chiefs or Mamelodi Sundowns. He also had a recent utterance in the media that had the supporters questioning the player's professionalism.
There was a recent war of words when Bloemfontein Celtic claimed they had extended Morena's contract, before the player came out and denied this. This has caused a stir among the Siwelele faithful – here is a post from their official Facebook group:
"It is the duty of the player's agent to teach the player how to talk to the media.
"I'm not making excuses for him but the prospects of making double or triple what he earned at Celtic got him all excited. There's no smoke without fire, either he was coached by his agent to say whatever he said to create a story just to get the ball rolling or create confusion. Remember when Tower left us for Chiefs, remember what Collins Tshabalala said about us in the media after he left? Do you remember Siyabonga saying he does not miss Celtic and Bloem? Do you remember Masele?
"Players need to look after themselves and their families, but you do not need to bite the hand that feeds you. Do you think your new employers will trust you if you talk bad about your previous employer? His level of confidence confirms for a fact that he knows he is leaving, otherwise he would not speak ill of his team.
"Swearing at him and calling him names won't change his mind.
"Let him go in peace."
Do you think players hype themselves up in the media to influence potential deals?
