Here at Supporters Club, we enjoy giving our fans a platform to voice their opinions and share their views regarding our beautiful game. Today, we hear from Messonaldo from Get Published , who shares his views on skilful players.
"Baroka has just announced the release of four of their players, under their new coach (Jacob) Sakala. Amongst those released is the crowd favourite, Tshepo 'Skhwama' Matete – a player they once said they can only sell him for R15 million.
"One may wonder what transpired and if he is going to find a new team. Or is he going to struggle just like his fellow ball jugglers such as Myeni and Zongo, who are failing to make the best of their careers? This is a lesson to all ball jugglers.
"An attacker is judged by his contribution to the team. Number of goals he scored, number of assists he made and his ability to split defences with passes. Nothing entertains like that!
"Look at 'Jomo' Rakhale – he is a skilled player, but some of his touches are costly to the team. Showboating has killed many promising careers. Where are Skaapie Malatsi, Junior Khanye and Lebo Mokoena?
"All ball jugglers must learn from Messi. He is a magician on the field, but he plays for the team and makes all players around him blossom. That is why he is one of the best in the world, and will never be released for free."
