The Khosi Nation is waiting with bated breath as next week approaches. What next week brings is an announcement, a massive one at that. Following the exodus of 20 players from Chiefs' squad, next week the nation will learn who the new soldiers to replace them are. In South Africa, a potent striker is difficult to come by. Today, the supporters debate whether Collins Mbesuma is a man worth signing twice in a lifetime...
It seems opinions are split on this one. Many think it is simply too late for Mbesuma, while others think "Ntofontofo" is still the best there is out there, and that he could do a lot to train some of the young stars, such as the promising talent of Emmanuel Letlotlo, at Naturena.
"Too late for Mbesuma. Chiefs need young stars." – Dupenter
"Mbesuma is our answer for goals." – Mhlengi Khuzwayo
"Yes, yes, yes, we need him 100%." – Lungaz
"A big yes. His experience can make a difference. Before he retires, he can help young strikers. His age is just a number. Let's face reality, this young blood can't do it." – Kuhle
"Him and Letlotlo both want more. He's always hungry for goals, while Letlotlo will be hungry for success." – Mbuso Mbatha
While it may seem ridiculous to sign Mbesuma in this veteran stage of his career, one must remember that he is, after all, the current Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot award winner. That should count for something, right?
Would you re-sign Mbesuma for Chiefs? Could he come back and accomplish some of his previous feats?
