Bafana Bafana are facing a tough situation as the national team have been set aback with injuries to key individuals, including number one goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, who suffered a facial fracture, and midfielder Hlompho Kekana, who had to leave camp due to a family tragedy.
As if that was not enough of a headache for head coach Stuart Baxter, he also has to face the fact that Vitesse Arnhem midfielder Thulani Serero has refused to report to camp unless he is guaranteed game time.
The supporters have shared their views on Serero's no-show at Bafana, and have shown their disappointment at the player, and many also feel that there are many others could be used in the team instead.
"Midfield is one department that South Africa has an avalanche of players, so we can't cry over one player. If Serero talks about guarantees, maybe he should also guarantee us that his inclusion will give us two wins against Senegal!" – skols
"What has Serero done for his current team guys, please tell me? Even Dolly is not the same player that he was. We are more worried about the goalkeeper to even think about the forever injured Serero." – MALOSE
"I don't see any reason why we should cry over Serero. He's not vital in the Bafana set-up. We stood by his side when Mashaba called him up even though he wasn't playing at his former club, we didn't even question his exclusion. Now he thinks he's in the same WhatsApp group as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. He can go to hell, SA has an over-production of midfielders. His absence won't even be noticed, same as his presence in previous games." – Matome_Kay
