It is time for celebration in every township, village, town and city in South Africa. Mamelodi Sundowns have brought smiles to South Africans after ending the 20-year drought of a South African team not winning the CAF Champions League since Pirates won it back in 1995. Supporters Club spoke to prominent Kaizer Chiefs supporter Saddam Maake to get his take on Downs' latest triumph.
"Well, let me start by saying congratulations to Sundowns for a job well done. They deserve it, they were more than willing to do it, the players, that is," he said.
"To President Motsepe, you have outdone yourself, and thank you for sending 150 supporters to Egypt, which was very good customer service to their supporters.
"I have been discriminated now by both Sundowns and Pirates supporters, telling me that we (Chiefs) don't have a star. They tell me that I cannot comment or take part in their conversations because I'm not in their league. I am not angry about that, that is the nature of football. I pray to God that before He takes me, my team Kaizer Chiefs get a star!"
