Limpopo will be an interesting locus of South African football next season. The province will have two teams in the PSL in the form of Baroka FC and Polokwane City. Both teams look to be making preparations to compete for top honors, the latest instalment is the appointment of a new coach for Polokwane City.
The new coach is Luc Eymael, a man from Belgium who has coached AS Vita will begin his reign soon. Supporters Club caught up with Polokwane City supporter Surprise Ngobeni to find out the mood of the fans.
“We have no problem with the new coach. We are excited to see him start, we like him already. So long as he does the job correctly we are fine. We are expecting him to collect everything from all the competitions next season. We are a very dangerous team in Limpopo. I am too excited for the Limpopo derby between Baroka FC and us, it will be really good for our province and grow our economy in Limpopo.”
Polokwane City finished 13th on the log last season and have recently lost the services of star player Cole Alexander. However, Surprise says he is not worried because it gives another player a chance to shine.
“We will finish in the top five next season.” Concluded Surprise.
What do you think of Polokwane City’s chances next season?
