With the promotional play-offs taking place in the off-season, this can place huge amounts of pressure and fatigue on the players, as well as taking time away from the technical team who, during that time frame, are normally scouting for new additions and planning ahead for the upcoming season.
"Firstly, play-offs in other countries are simple, the bottom teams get relegated and the top teams from the lower leagues are promoted," Orlando Pirates superfan Dejan Miladinovic said.
"I do not agree with the system that has been put in place because it is not good for our players and for their respective teams.
"The play-offs are time-consuming; coaches should be using this pre-season to interact with their squads and buy new players, but unfortunately that cannot take place."
It certainly can't be easy for teams to play during the pre-season and then suddenly shift their focus to the new league campaign in a matter of days.
"I feel for the players because they do not get an opportunity to rest, and fatigue eventually catches up to them," Dejan continued.
"There really needs to be a change with the rules!"
Do you think the rules will change, taking into account the complaints that have been made by the supporters?
