"We are in for another edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon in January 2017. The 16 best African countries are going to battle each other for the continental championship.
Here are some players to watch out for in Gabon:
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon and Borussia Dortmund)
The hosts will be putting all their faith in their German-based star player to take them far in the tournament.
Pape Moussa Konate and Sadio Mane (both Senegal, FC Sion and Liverpool respectively)
The two stars helped their country qualify for the tournament with a 100% winning record. They will be expected to follow up a great 2016 with a good showing, and help their country reach the advanced stages of the tournament.
Jonathan Pitroipa (Burkina Faso and Al Nasr)
Currently plying his trade in Dubai, even at 30 he's still the hope for The Stallions, and the winger can score and create goals aplenty.
Riyad Mahrez and Yacine Brahimi (both Algeria, Leicester City and FC Porto respectively)
The two stars will be leading Algeria's attacking line and are going to be very dangerous, with their team among the favourites to win the competition.
David Accam (Ghana and Chicago Fire)
It will be the first AFCON for the youngster and a lot will be expected from him to deliver.
Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona (both Zimbabwe, Mamelodi Sundowns and KV Oostende respectively)
The two attacking players will be leading The Warriors' attacking line and will be carrying the hopes of southern Africa.
Mohamed Salah (Egypt and AS Roma)
Once a Chelsea player, Salah will be wanting to prove he's still EPL material.
It will be another entertaining continental showpiece that will remind me of the one in 2006." – Sejosengoe walter itumeleng
