South African midfielder Steven Pienaar has, on various occasions, hinted that he would take the opportunity to ply his trade in the PSL once again, and with his official release from English side Everton over the weekend, it appears there will be a tug-of-war between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns to sign "Schillo". We have asked the supporters to send their application forms to Schillo to have him lured to their club!
Buccaneers supporter Joyce "Mama Joy" Chauke shed light on why he should join the ship, making it clear that they would welcome Pienaar with opened arms.
"Let me tell you something, Steven is a great player!" she said.
"He would be a great asset to the team because the younger players will learn a lot from the experience that he has gained over the years, playing for Ajax Amsterdam, Borussia Dortmund, Everton and Tottenham."
Pirates had previously lured Benni McCarthy to their ship, beating the likes of Kaizer Chiefs to his signature, but will they be able to do it again, this time with Pienaar?
"Where else should he go?" Mama Joy asked.
"There is no better option for him because we are the best team in South Africa, and he will get the opportunity to play in Africa.
"Just look at Benni McCarthy when he joined us.
"He brought in his experience and helped the younger players around him, which resulted in him ending his career on a high note.
"I would encourage Pienaar to follow in Benni's footsteps because he will be making the best decision."
Do you think Pirates would be the best local team for Pienaar to join?
