Motale: Pirates Can Win The League If They Don't Compete In CAF

"Magents" has started answering your questions! Today, Edward Motale discusses what he does for a living, the greatest players he played with and against, the biggest challenge of being a footballer, what Pirates must do to win the league, and his take on the Kermit Erasmus versus Shakes Mashaba saga.

What do you do for a living now? – Tikkie Boy

Edward Motale: I am coaching. I coach a school team called Tswane South College, we play in the SAB league. I am also mentoring young men from the community, preparing them for life decisions.

Who is the greatest player you ever played with/against? – Brian Ndlele

EM: Can I give you two? The greatest I played with are Jomo Sono and Mark Fish. Against was Doctor Khumalo and Daniel Ramarutsi from Bush Bucks.

What was the greatest challenge you faced as a footballer? – Venda Boy

EM: The biggest challenge was having fame with no money. Because everytime people see you on TV, they think you're rich. There were high expectations because I was always in the media.

What do you see in store for Pirates next season? – Lusindisozathu

EM: I think they can win the league if they don't contest in the Confederation Cup. Because if they win the Nedbank Cup, they will contest again. But I think they can win the league if they don't have to compete in CAF, because of the clash of calendars and all. It is very taxing.

What is your take on the Erasmus/Mashaba saga? – mc Triggero

EM: I'm not sure about all the shenanigans between the two, because I only heard one side, that of Erasmus over social media. I cannot really pick a side, but I would love to see Erasmus representing South Africa because I know what he's made of.
