Mamelodi Sundowns have arguably the most star-studded team in the PSL. They outplay most on the pitch and in the transfer market. In the latest window, one of their failed targets was Deolin Mekoa, and there is talk the move could materialise in January. As such, the supporters have been debating his ability to make the grade at Downs.
Often, before a player moves to Sundowns, the supporters warn him of the potential career consequences – because of the impressive depth at Sundowns, players can often find themselves without much game time.
"His move to Sundowns will be similar to that of Morena. Good player, but they have even better players than him there. In his natural position, he'll be competing with Dolly, he stand no chance. We even saw it in Rio, he needed to be played out of position to get game time. He's no left back, that why he was ordinary in Rio. If there was a move, Chiefs would be better for him. Has a 50/50 chance against Lebese." – MGG06
"I don't think he is that good for Downs, if you look at what Downs have right now. He needs to go to a team where he will be playing every game, teams like Wits, SuperSport or even Platinum Stars. At his age, he needs to be playing regularly or else he must stay at M United. It's too early for him to move to a big team. He must take his time, he is still young, he must not rush the move." – tentimesguluva
