This past weekend's Nedbank Cup final was a spectacular showcase as Stuart Baxter's men ended their season on a high note and sunk Orlando Pirates' ship. The performance put on by SuperSport United certainly brought the smiles back to the Matsatsantsa faithful, who are now looking forward to taking charge in Africa.
"I'm very, very happy! It was a great game," SuperSport supporter Jones Shakoane said.
"Previously, I said that we weren't afraid of Pirates and that we would beat them, and now I don't have to mince my words."
Since Baxter took over the reins at the Pretoria-based team, the supporters have always been confident he would mould the players into winners and ensure there would be a winning mentality.
"The coach has done a great job with the players, and the football that they are playing is worth watching, especially with Jeremy Brockie and Bradley Grobler, who are on fire!" Shakoane added.
With the team having clinched the Nedbank Cup, they have been added to the roster for the CAF Confederation Cup competition next season, and this will be a massive test for both Stuart Baxter and the team.
"It is obvious that we want to do well in Africa and hopefully make it to the final, although it will not be easy," Shakoane continued.
"But it is not impossible."
Do you think Baxter can guide SuperSport all the way to the CAF Confederation Cup final next season?
