Mashaba Is 100% Correct About Patosi and Co!

Hi all, how is everyone doing today. I am going to keep today’s discussion brief, with the Siya crew chasing deadline for this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma.
I echo coach Shakes Mashaba’s sentiments, calling for South African players to show more commitment and patriotism.
Yesterday the coach told the Siya crew, “There are three things that you’ve got to display, passion, commitment and patriotism. You are not doing anyone a favour.”
His comments have been directed at Ayanda Patosi, following the Lokeren midfielder’s failure to report for international duty ahead of last week’s Afcon qualifier between Bafana Bafana and Sudan, having missed two flights out of Belgium.
In recent times, under the mentorship of coach Gordon Igesund, there were two incidents within the Bafana camp that were questioned, and well publicised.
The first when Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar opted to retire from international football to focus on his club football, and the second being the incident when Ajax Amsterdam's Thulani Serero failed to represent his country against Botswana in Durban, back in 2013.
Come on guys, we need our top players to represent our nation, pull on the jersey and fly the flag with pride. I want to see SA’s best in Mashaba’s team, but more importantly our players must want to reprent the country, which I believe is the pinnacle of world footfall.
Chat later guys, Eddie
