Mamelodi Sundowns face a daunting task as they prepare to take on ZESCO United of Zambia away from home for the CAF Champions League on Saturday. A mammoth task indeed, but no team seems better suited for the challenge than the Brazilians.
Supporters Club caught up with Sundowns superfan Basetsana Ntsweng to see how the supporters are feeling ahead of the encounter.
Beaver Nazo: Bassie, hi, how are you doing?
Basetsana Ntsweng: Hey Beaver, I'm doing just fine, you should know as a Sandawana, we are always well.
BN: Sundowns will be taking on ZESCO United in Zambia in the first leg of the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League this weekend. Your thoughts on this one?
Bassie: Eish Beaver, we will win this one, but all I wish for is that we score more than one goal. And I hope we don't concede so as to make our lives easy when we play at home.
BN: Are there any supporters who travelled with the team to Zambia?
Bassie: Yes, there are, they travelled this morning because we just came back from Durban. I will communicate with them during the course of the day.
BN: OK, that's good. Tell me, how do you rate your chances of reaching the finals of the CCL?
Bassie: 95% (laughing). We are going to the final, Beaver. The boy must not be excited, but must just focus. We are almost there, Beaver.
BN: Are there any celebrations planned for when the team returns from Zambia?
Bassie: No, not now, we usually do that, where we will go from the airport straight to Chloorkop, but this time we will only do that after winning the final.
BN: Any message for the team?
Bassie: Normally I would say good luck, but this is different, this is huge, so go out there boys and make the rest of Mzansi proud!
BN: Bassie, from all of us here at Soccer Laduma, we wish you and Masandawana all the best on your quest to conquer Africa.
Bassie: Thank you, Beaver, thank you!
Do Sundowns have what it takes to go all the way?
