Cape Town City captain Lebogang Manyama has been an instrumental figure for the Mother City club this season. One of our readers, Sejosengoe walter itumeleng, expressed his views on the midfielder.
"In life, your positive attitude can rub off to the people surrounding you," he wrote.
"A positive leader with a positive attitude, a typical example of that saying is Cape Town City captain Lebogang Manyama. It doesn't matter whether he's playing for a small club or he should prove himself at a bigger club, however, he was at SuperSport United at one stage and he won a cup final.
"Apart from that, all captains have the same responsibility of leading their clubs with integrity on and off the field. A good leader who's leading by example, he was born to be a footballer, he's disciplined and dedicated to his job. With only a few months of the Citizens' existence, he has already led them to cup victory.
"As football people, we need to give credit where it is due sometimes. Manyama is the best player in the PSL at the moment.
People must now understand that the days of so-called small and big clubs in the PSL, even around the world, are long gone. Cape Town City is yet to lose against all of those so-called big clubs and they defeated Sundowns.
Tell me what he still has to prove at big clubs? He is a professional and we have to respect that. People should learn to be honest when watching players' performances and stop political comments.
"Manyama has a football brain, a high football IQ. He is in good form in the sense that he deserves a national team call-up to help the likes of Mpho Makola, Thulani Serero and others in creating chances there." – Sejosengoe walter itumeleng
