Last Chance Saloon For Majoro?

The news has broken – Lehlohonolo Majoro will no longer be an Orlando Pirates player. Instead he will be following his old coach Eric Tinkler to the Cape of Good Hope in order to ply his trade for Cape Town City. There is a lot to process with this move, and supporters' opinions are split.

Many find it puzzling that "Major" would agree to play under the coach who opted not to use him more often than not last season.

"I must say, soccer is unpredictable. You let the league's top goalscorer (Mbesuma) leave for free and then you buy a lazy striker (Majoro) who scored only one goal in 12 matches. Then you go on and shamelessly tell us that you're improving your club as a coach. Does that make any sense?" – old dog

"Let's hope Tinkler will use him since he didn't do so at Pirates... Good luck, Major, at your new team, all you need to do now is stop trying so hard to prove that you're good and just play your game. All will be OK in your career." – Mr.Jones

Others think this move may be just what the doctor ordered for both Majoro and Tinkler. Different clubs bring out the best and worst in certain personalities, so many supporters are wishing the duo well in their new jobs.

"All the best, Major. You failed at Pirates, you were given a chance but Bucs was just not for you. At City, you will be relaxed and be able to deliver. Some players are just not for certain teams." – SgolozaBethi

There is another aspect that cannot be ignored... with a player as seasoned and decorated as Majoro, one cannot help but feel as if the end of his career is approaching, and this may be a last chance for the 29-year-old to prove himself as one of the deadliest strikers in the land.

"This CTC has saved Eric Tinkler and Majoro, without this team these guys would be jobless. It's a great move for both these guys, especially Majoro, this is like his last chance. If he doesn't make a mark like he did at Pirates, he'll have to consider going back to AmaZulu or retire." – HDK 732 VP

Do you think this move is what is needed to get the best out of Majoro?
