New players, a new coach and possibly a new technical team prove that the mighty Buccaneers are going all out for the upcoming season. It has been noted that the main man, Irvin Khoza, has opened the cheque book to ensure the Orlando Pirates faithful will be Happy People once again. On paper, the 2016/17 season promises to be one to keep an eye on, and we, as supporters of the beautiful game, will be sitting in the front row to watch it all unfold.
With the club having finished in seventh position this season, narrowly making it into the top eight and not securing any silverware, things were not looking good for the Soweto giant. And just like any loyal supporter would react to this situation, the Bucs fans voiced their concerns time and time again, and they might have initially felt their opinions were falling on deaf ears as there were no changes being made. However, the Iron Duke had some tricks up his sleeves...
Looking at the changes made in the coaching department, which many have been crying out to take place since there seemed to be no faith in former mentor Eric Tinkler, Muhsin Ertugral has come in. The Turk is definitely a man who can take the Buccaneers back to the top, and with his experience and the talented squad the team boasts, there should be no excuse as to why there won't be any success ahead.
Pirates are breaking the bank and are possibly only club in South Africa that is currently not shy to empty out their pockets to lure the best players to Mayfair. With the possible signing of Ajax duo Riyaad Norodien and Abbubaker Mobara, as well as the rumours of former Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar joining, and the confirmation of Ghanaian striker Bernard Morrison and FC Cape Town's Marshall Munetsi having joined, we look forward to seeing who else will board the ship…
Which other player/s do you think Pirates should sign?
