Khoza Means Business, Kaizer Keeps Supporters Waiting

Expect to see a very different Orlando Pirates next time the mighty Buccaneers take to the field. A new coach, new players, new formations, new tactics and a new season. After a below-par campaign, the supporters unified their voice and asked the ever-powerful Iron Duke to act… and take action he has. On the other side of Soweto, meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs fans wait in envy as they watch their neighbours install an electric fence, buy DSTV and re-pave the driveway.

The news broke this morning that Orlando Pirates have signed Abbubaker Mobara and Riyaad Norodien from Ajax Cape Town, two very promising, young talents. On top of this, they have also signed AS Vita striker Bernard Morrison and Baroka FC forward Thabiso Kutumela. To top it all off, they have replaced Eric Tinkler with none other than the master tactician, Muhsin Ertugral.

"Wow, great talent of Mzansi. Big up to Pirates, great signings." – KingB

"Dankie Bucs." – Shabier

"Bobby will give us heart attacks I tell you. While great players are being signed, we focusing on Zim players." – Malose

"Good work Bucs, wish I could know how my team, the biggest and best in South Africa, is progressing in signing new players next season." – M Southern

"I really like the Iron Duke Dr Irvin Khoza. I wish our beloved neighbour Khosi can also learn from him, not this buy one get one free." – Michaelkhohonela

"Heartbreaking news as a Chiefs fan. What is our team doing?" – Junior25

So it seems the Happy People are happy again while the Khosi Nation is still waiting to see what action management is taking to rectify a horrid season. While the supporters are impatient, it is important to remember that Chiefs could unveil all their new signings soon, all at once at a press conference perhaps, so supporters must wait till then to find out.

It does not mean Chiefs has not acted, they are just being strategic. However, the fact remains: Irvin Khoza has come out in a strong showing to supporters that he hears their calls for fixing a broken season, and he is doing his bit to make sure it never happens again.

Do you think Khoza is respecting supporters with his transfer policy? Where will Pirates finish next season? What can Chiefs do to satisfy their supporters in the same way?
