Happier days have returned to Naturena and the horrifying spell that had been looming over the Black and Gold, and which had the Amakhosi faithful up in arms as they saw their beloved team struggle, has started to fade away. The question now is: Can Chiefs go back to being title contenders once again?
It has not been an easy ride for coach Steve Komphela, who has endured numerous attacks from the supporters, with even missiles being thrown at him during matches, and the hashtag "#KomphelaMustFall" even trended on social media. This could be a sign that everything takes time to build. Looking at the team that Chiefs were left with after their exodus during the off-season, and the players who were brought in, many criticised and mocked the club, labelling them the "free agent specialists" or something similar. Today, though, we are witnessing a team that now seem to have a solid foundation and have found their rhythm and are, game after game, looking more and more like the title contenders many feel they should be...
What do you think of Chiefs' recent performances?
