It is finally official. Thabiso Kutumela will be strapping up his boots and soldiering for Orlando Pirates next season. The Siya Crew broke the story in February but it was officially confirmed last night. Do the Pirates faithful have space in their hearts for three strikers; Thamsanqa Gabuza, Lehloholono Majoro, and Kutumela? And if not, who gets the boot?
The 22 year old striker from Baroka FC has been in fine form this season, finishing the NFD as the top goal scorer with 17 goals. What do the Bucs fans think of their first official signing?
“He is a good player… He will add value if given a chance.” – vuvuzela_khosi.
“Good move buddy, at least now Major can see that he is no longer wanted at Bucs.” – mphoh
“Great prospect, well done Bucs for acquiring his services.” – nhlnhl.
“So it means Majoro and Gabuza’s jobs are on the line.” – Carlos7.
It certainly will be an interesting time, some supporters are skeptical whether a talent in the NFD can effectively translate into a talent in the PSL, and especially at a big-pressure team like Orlando Pirates.
His success largely hinge on whether he can win over the hearts of the supporters, and in that regard, only time can tell. Also to be determined is whether his presence means the opening of the exit door for either Gabuza or Majoro, for now all we can do is sit back and anticipate.
One thing does seem for sure though, the Bucs faithful are excited to add a young goal scorer to their ranks.
Do you think Kutumela will make an impact at Bucs? Should Bucs retain the services of Gabuza and Majoro given this new addition?
