Here in Supporters Club, we love giving our readers a platform to voice their opinions, and we came across this interesting piece in which one of our football lovers wonders if the football fraternity should write Kaizer Chiefs off already.
"The PSL title race is heating up, with Mamelodi Sundowns slowly, but surely, making their way up the table," Soccer Laduma reader Matome_Kay wrote.
"The same can't be said about Kaizer Chiefs as the side is dropping points at a rapid rate. Chiefs are struggling to keep up with early pace-setters in Bidvest Wits, SuperSport United, Cape Town City and Golden Arrows.
"The Glamour Boys have seen the gap between them and Sundowns, who are playing catch-up, narrow to a mere one point, and Amakhosi have played four games more than Downs. It won't be too long before Amakhosi drop down the log as Downs are collecting points, and the four pace-setters aren't dropping points either.
"Orlando Pirates are slowly picking up under Augusto Palacios, and Downs are on fire, while Chiefs are stuck in second gear.
"It's obvious that Steve Komphela and his charges will need something special to cement their place in the top eight. They will also need to start throwing killer punches if they are to climb further up the log. At the moment things don't look well for Amakhosi, a top 5 finish before the festive break is highly unlikely."
Having said that, could Chiefs hold their own against the early pace-setters? Should we start writing them out of the title race already, or is it too soon? Do you think Amakhosi still have what it takes to win the league this season?
