Last night, it was announced that Moses Mabhida Stadium would once again play host to a final, this time the MTN8 decider between Cape Town City and SuperSport United later this month, but why are they always the one to host the big games? What do the fans have to say about this? Let's take a look!
The final will take place on 29 September, where live acts will precede the event before the two teams take to the field to battle it out for the first trophy of the 2018/19 season.
This is the second consecutive year that Moses Mabhida will host the final of the tournament, while on Saturday; the 2010 World Cup venue also welcomed Bafana Bafana and Libya in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Moses Mabhida appears to have become a primary playing ground for most of SAFA and the PSL's big events, leaving many of the South African football fans upset that the "big" games are seemingly being limited to one location and not being brought to the rest of the people.
Here's what some supporters had to say about the PSL's choice of venue for the MTN8 final:
"Every final will be played at Mabhida, why not Mbombela, Peter Mokaba or Free State Stadium?" – PROPHET OF DOOM
"I'm from KZN but this is unfair, manje sesikhathele. We got so many stadiums Emzansi but the big matches keep on coming to Mabhida. Come on, guys, rotate nathi sifuna uku traveler niyasibhora phelamanje nge, enough is enough." – Dreboy
"It's unfortunate that they chose Moses Mabhida again, there is a rotten rat smelling here, I am from KZN Tongaat but I am disappointed because I was willing that they must choose at least Mbombela so that we travel to other provinces to watch the game. Why, why, Khoza? Why, why, Mato? Ai, ai, it's unfair." – Bhelekhulu
"They must rotate the stadiums." – Makaveli 99
"There must be a rotation policy. What about other stadiums? Even Bafana Bafana were in the same venue." – email@example.com
