Some frightening news was received in South Africa earlier this week: it was announced that Brazil star Neymar will be one of the three overaged players selected for their Olympics team to face South Africa's U23s later this year. Should Mzansi be cowering away in the corner, or is there something to believe in?
One of our supporters, simba tiki, had some words to comfort South Africa in this time when the team faces a formidable task.
"Iceland beat England on the pitch but in the media England won it earlier. Let South Africa believe in themselves when approaching this game... Remember, it's the year of underdogs... It started with Leicester City... back to Euros... to be continued in Rio."
So perhaps this is the year of the upset. On top of this, last time Neymar faced off against Bafana Bafana, the Brazilian supporters booed him… Perhaps the Samba boys will be on the Africans' side this time around.
Do you think the boys are up for the challenge? Can South Africa produce an upset against Brazil at the Olympics?
