The circles in which South Africa's most powerful run are ones we are often excluded from. We don't know what goes on in the backrooms of the elite, but we do see the effects on the field and this gives us clues. A club's chairman is the person the community looks to to make the right decisions for the team.
As things stand, Kaizer Chiefs are not in a favourable position. This has got the supporters split in opinion about what the fate of coach Steve Komphela should be. It is an easy thing to blame the coach when things are going pear-shaped.
One supporter, however, believes that a little bit of patience could go far towards reviving Amakhosi's fortunes.
"How I so wish that Mr Motaung Sr could learn something from what Mr Motsepe did last season, which is to stand by your coach in good and bad times... I'm sick and tired of this chopping of coaches, changing coaches like underwear will never bring consistency to the team... Look, Sundowns found themselves in a similar situation last season, Downs supporters once broke the stadium showing their lack of satisfaction when they threatened to attack the coach Mosimane, but guess what? Mr Motsepe stood up on his feet in support of Mr Mosimane and the rest is history. Look at where Sundowns are today, and as we speak, Downs are the best team in the country, even on the continent... Why can't Mr Motaung Sr do the same to coach Komphela? If we really need consistency, then we need to stop this chopping of coaches. It's hurting us at times... So beloved folks, let's just be faithful to our beloved teams." – Marksinho
Do you agree with this supporter? Should Chiefs aim for consistency with Komphela?
