New changes regarding the make-up of the Kaizer Chiefs squad are set to be announced in the near future. One of the interesting aspects to the situation as Chiefs approach the new season is the issue between the sticks – the goalkeeping department was dealt a blow when Reyaad Pieterse departed. Chiefs are said to be looking at another youngster, but will history be in their favour?
Amakhosi have reportedly been talking to 20-year-old shot-stopper Brylan Peterson to replace Reyaad Pieterse. The supporters seem to be of the opinion that when it comes to goalkeepers, Chiefs can be trusted. From the days of Brian Baloyi through to Rowen Fernandez and on to Itumeleng Khune, the Glamour Boys have a rich history of top keepers.
"Chiefs GKs have been good in the past, especially those that come through their own development structures, such as Brian Baloyi and Itumeleng Khune." – Gambo Ka Msuthu
"Normally, KC is good with goal keepers. I think this youngster would be productive to the Khosi family." – Molombo ts
"I trust Chiefs when it comes to goalkeepers." – Soften
Given Chiefs' history, do you think they should go to the market for a new goalkeeper, or develop one?
