Kgoloko Thobejane led Baroka FC to the top flight after the Ga-Mphahlele-based side dominated the National First Division during the 2015/16 campaign. However, since their introduction to the PSL, Bakgaga have had a rude awakening and now coach Thobejane has been redeployed and will be an assistant to Jacob Sakala.
One supporter expressed his feelings about the situation surrounding Thobejane, Sakala and Baroka FC.
"At the beginning of this season, I said this guy will be lucky if he finishes as head coach of Baroka FC, and few people thought the same. Now Baroka are trying to avoid relegation, which was expected. In fact, that's what I said they needed to concentrate on. Look, now they are about to be relegated.
"They also have a very loud-mouthed guy who is always promising to beat other PSL teams and dreaming about selling their lucky goalkeeper Oscarine's soccer boots. I said this guy is the one who gave this team a false impression of themselves, that they are invincible, and now look where they are!
"I'm not a fan of Sakala but I think it's a good decision for Baroka. They found somebody who will tell the players the reality of the situation so that they can humble themselves and play to secure their status in the PSL.
"Remember, beating Chiefs on penalties and drawing with them in the first round doesn't guarantee your PSL status. Look where Jomo Cosmos are now." – Thautha
