Troubled times abound for Kaizer Chiefs. The Glamour Boys head into tonight's game against Highlands Park hoping to put an end to their winless streak this season, and the dark times have brought up questions regarding Steve Komphela's ability to manage the team.
Furthermore, Siya Sources have confirmed that Ruud Krol was offered to Kaizer Chiefs by an agent as a possible replacement for Steve Komphela, but Naturena reportedly declined and opted to stick with Steve.
This has got many supporters debating about whether or not Krol would actually have been a welcome change.
"Changing tyres in a car that has a mixture of petrol and diesel in the fuel tank does not help. Chiefs need to change the coach and also change the management philosophy. This interference from management is catching up with the club. Look at Sundowns, Mr Motsepe completely entrusts Pitso with the running of the team and look at their style of play! At Chiefs, you don't know whether they are coming or going. You don't know what style of play the team is implementing. You don't know who the scout is. It's a complete mess at Naturena!" – SeaGate4
"I don't see Krol doing what he did for Pirates at Chiefs. Pirates had quality and most of their players were in their prime at that time. A midfield consisting of Manyisa, Chansa and Jali, who were at the top of their game. The only reliable midfielder at Chiefs is Katsande. One coach I know that always does well with ageing players is Gordon Igesund, I fancy him with the current Chiefs squad." – MGG06
So it seems Steve is safe for now, but tonight's result will surely go a long way to determining the future of the Free State-born coach.
Do you think changing the coach would change Chiefs' current fortunes?
