Who would have thought? Just a few months ago there was no such thing as Cape Town City. Now, they are at the summit of the PSL, and they are in the semi-finals of the Telkom Knockout… How long will the honeymoon last?
Supporters Club caught up with Cape Town City superfan Christopher Willows to see what the mood among the young support base of The Citizens is.
"I can't believe how well we've done! The boys have already surpassed expectations and they are definitely already winners in our eyes," he said.
"I mean, can you believe some of our results? We've beaten Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Chippa United, and Maritzburg United. It's ridiculous, I'm so happy for the boys.
"People thought we were a joke in the beginning of the season, they called us relegation candidates, I bet no one is laughing now. We stand a genuine chance of winning some silverware in our maiden season, we are top of the PSL and in the semi-finals of the TKO.
"We will definitely get through to the final as well, where we will probably meet Orlando Pirates… And probably drill them 6-1 (laughs)!"
