Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands is part of the squad that was tasked with securing a spot for the country at next year's World Cup in Russia. However, the country's hopes were dashed in the first leg. The players will be returning to South Africa after their dead rubber against Senegal tonight, and will be focusing on their club duties.
Orlando Pirates' Sandilands has come under fire for his performances between the sticks this season.
Although the shot-stopper's display against Mamelodi Sundowns was a while ago, Pirates' defender Justice Chabalala recently spoke about it and pointed out that no one should be blamed for the incidents that took place in that game.
The supporters have reacted to his comments, especially the one where he said the fans do not know what they want.
"This is shocking, for a player to say no one should be blamed for losing. This reflects why Bucs have been having poor results. Players do not care whether they lose or win. Chabalala, it is sad to hear your views. We spend our hard-earned money to go to the stadiums to watch games. All this is for the love of the game and the best thing for you to say is to insult us." – Pyton
"'Supporters don't know what they want', I rest my suitcase!" – Mkhwengxeli
"Maybe it's you who doesn't know what he wants in football. Fans need nothing but a win. Sandilands' weakness is that he never stands on his line. Every player in the PSL knows that and they will use that advantage to beat Bucs while you are still protecting him." – MRLUH2
What do you think of Chabalala's support towards Sandilands?
