There has been much speculation as to why Andile Jali chose to join Mamelodi Sundowns instead of rivals Kaizer Chiefs, who were also in the chase for the Bafana Bafana international in the past few months.
Jali was officially revealed as a Downs player on Friday afternoon, putting the head-spinning rumours about his next club to rest. With Masandawana being known for not being shy when it comes to spending, many assumed that perhaps the midfielder joined the Chloorkop side for financial purposes.
However, Jali's agent, Mike Makaab, has cleared the ongoing speculation and assured everyone that it was not about the money as Downs and Amakhosi made similar offers for the former Orlando Pirates star.
Supporters Club members have reacted to Makaab's statement, with some taking jabs at Chiefs, who are still in search for a new head coach following the exit of Steve Komphela two days before the 2017/18 season ended.
